Have you ever felt like when you told someone about something you were doing it all went down south?  They criticized or had nothing positive to say?  Being a country girl, when someone spoke negatively about you, a project, or something positive you were doing, we would say, “So and so put their mouth on it.”

Moving in silence is encouraged when you have too many negative Nancys or Neds in your circle, and you want to achieve your goals and stay focused on your path. Whether you’re starting a new business, embarking on a personal journey of self-improvement, or simply striving to be the best version of yourself, there are many benefits to keeping your plans and progress to yourself.

I want to offer you five reasons why moving in silence is good, and how this practice can help you to succeed in whatever you set out to do. From avoiding distractions to cultivating a sense of self-reliance, we’ll dive deep into the many ways that keeping quiet can help you to achieve your goals and find fulfillment in your life. So let’s get started and discover the power of moving in silence!

Proverbs 27:12 it says, “A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.

Here are my 5 reasons…

1. Avoid unnecessary distractions: When we talk too much about our goals or plans, we may become distracted by other people’s opinions or suggestions. Moving in silence allows us to stay focused on our own vision without being swayed by external influences.

2. Maintain privacy: Sometimes, our goals or plans may be personal and private, and sharing them with others can feel uncomfortable or inappropriate. Moving in silence can allow us to keep these goals to ourselves until we are ready to share them.

3. Protect ourselves: Unfortunately, there may be people who are not supportive of our goals or who may even try to sabotage our efforts. Moving in silence can help protect us from negative energy or criticism that could hinder our progress. Especially, if you are sensitive to criticism.

4. Build confidence: When we work quietly and diligently towards our goals, we build confidence in ourselves and our abilities. This confidence can be strengthened by our own progress, rather than external validation from others.

Overall, moving in silence can allow us to stay focused, protect our goals and progress, and build confidence in ourselves. It is important to note, however, that sharing our goals and seeking support from others can also be beneficial, and finding a balance between the two is key.

Action Step: Make a list of people in your circle that are supportive and positive. Look to them when you need outside encouragement.
